Hervey Bay City Council is one of the largest employers in Hervey Bay. Council comprises a Mayor and seven Councillors and a workforce of approximately 300 indoor and outdoor staff organised into four directorates reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The Office of the CEO includes Human Resources and Governance; Tourism and Economic Development; Marketing, Media and Communications; and Workplace Health and Safety.

The City Development Directorate is responsible for guiding and monitoring the development of our City.

The City Assets Directorate includes city-wide infrastructure projects, asset management and disaster planning and management.

The objective of the Community Environment Directorate is to build a strong, safe, healthy, inclusive and supportive community.

Corporate Services Directorate aims to provide efficient, effective and timely corporate services to Council's internal and external clients.

Hervey Bay City Council's Administration Centre is located at 77 Tavistock Street, Torquay.
